Project Synopsis
The working title for this project, in concept, was a 'Film Quilt' that, like quilting, would have different panels fitted together to tell one story. We saw the songs as being like that, each with their own identity, but making a lot of sense as one body.
Having only a two and a half day period to film 4 songs 'quilted' together, we needed to keep things tight and adaptive.
The central visual theme pulled from a meditation on clouds. This formed a great deal of the aesthetic: floaty, soft, white, dramatic with a flare of sunset pinks (save for the old school 'Sorry' moment that transitioned beautifully into 'Thicker'). This informed the the classic style of film making and eventually changed the way we approached the album artwork, which upon reflection, does allude to the greyscale gloom that clouds can offer too.
We were fortunate enough to be selected for the Barcelona Indie Film Festival 2024 and Long-listed for Glastonbury 2025 off the merit of the film. We were so pleased with this but, equally, so pleased with our own private viewing with our Brighton based creative community. Knowing that there were watch parties happening around the UK and California warmed our hearts a great deal! Sharing the culmination of 2 years working on something is precious.
